1 year anniversay

I can't believe how fast ti has flown by but we have been married a little over a year now! Our one year anniversary we celebrated a week late but still had such a wonderful time. We spent the week end in ouray, hiking, sitting in the hot springs, and picnicing. The weather turned out beautiful and we got to hike around some falls that it had been years since we had been to. They gave us the honeymoon suite at our hotel which we didn't even get on our honeymoon so that was a treat. What a great 1 yr anniversary trip!

Just a few little tips from my first yr of marriage:

1. Think before you speak
2. Put his needs above your own
3. Keep communicating
4. Most the time, the little arguements are not even worth it
5. It's okay to do things apart every once in a while

All these things I was told before I was married yet somehow it sticks more when you have to experience it yourself :) Overall its been a great year! If all my years of marriage were as good as the first one, I would be one lucky girl.

Growing fast

Just a little update on tucker, it's official, has a big boy bark now! and he has definitely let us here it :) I can't believe how fast he is growing. I wish he would just stay a puppy but he sure is a lot of fun. I never knew a dog that loved the water so much. We have a pond behind our house and he is just in dog heaven. He sure is a good dog though!

Tucker

Meet the newest member of our little family: Tucker!!

He is a pure bred english black lab and loves to cuddle (as you can see). We got him saturday afternoon outside of sportsman's warehouse. He was the last one of his litter, 8 weeks old and this little butter ball and we fell in love with him. We bought him from a lady who lives on a farm about an hour away. He was a great deal and we couldn't pass him up. Thankfully, tracey was here and my mom and jenna had off for spring break so they could watch him while I worked 2 days this week. He's a good boy even if I have to get up with him 2-3 times a night cause he's potty training :) He sure is smart and I can't believe how big he's gotten even since saturday.
My in-laws come into town tomorrow for a week and i know they will just fall in love with him.

We did experience his first vet appointment a couple days ago which was a little traumatic. Poor little guy was sick with some bacterial thing and had to get on some antibiotics. But he is doing much better now. Unfortunately, he doesn't like his beef flavored antibiotics so J has to open his mouth and throw it down. Probably not the best way to go about it but it works. Enjoy these sweet puppy photos:

Our first married Valentine's Day

I love being married, especially on Valentine's Day and especially to a husband who sure spoils me. He took me to Ouray for a fun valentine's day trip on saturday where we walked up and down the street looking at the shops, sat in the hot springs, and attempted to go hike up and see the ice-climbers. The last activity was only an attempt because once my car didn't make it up the hill very well, we decided to hike it and then realized we weren't wearing the proper shoes to hike in 3 feet of snow. I guess that will have to wait until next time. Nonetheless we had a great time on Saturday. We stopped in Montrose on our way home where he took me to dinner.

Thinking that was the end of our valentine's day, I just bought him a card and left it on the counter for him as I headed off to work monday morning. Proving me wrong, I got home from work that evening to a trail of rose petals leading me on a minature scavenger hunt around our house. This hunt lead me to a sweet card, chocolates and finally a bouquet of roses. He got home about 15 minutes later so excited, that he had thought up a great valentine's surprise all by himself. He was pretty cute! Thankful for such a fun Valentine's Day and a very sweet husband! Here are just a few pictures:

Lots of snow!!!

I would love to live in that house and wake up to that every day.
